ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Leianna Leong
Leianna is a student with a love for both languages and sciences. She’s fluent in French and enjoys studying Latin, exploring how languages evolve and connect. She’s dedicated to helping students understand the importance of language in our world.
This past summer, she travelled to the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve in Mexico where she worked with scientists, collecting critical data needed to preserve ecologically sensitive regions. She also conducted research in scientific literature, producing a paper examining how humans have influenced changing water and distribution levels in the Reserve and how this disruption has impacted the range and population of jaguars in the area.
Athletically, Leianna is an accomplished ultimate frisbee player, competing at national and provincial levels. Her team won 1st in Ontario and placed 8th in Canada this year! She also plays volleyball at school and contributed to her team's 1st place finish at regionals and provincials.
